Where have you been lately?? Are you okay?
Yes, I am fine! We sold our house and moved out June 5th. We have been traveling around for the past 3 weeks..visiting friends, vacationing with family, and mainly trying to find a house to rent in DC.
Have you moved?
Moved out, but all of our things are currently in storage awaiting our rental house! We have been living out of suitcases for the past 3 weeks and have another 2 weeks of this. We move up to DC today!
Did you find a house?
Why, yes we did. Well, I should say – God found a house for us! Our house hunt was pretty unsuccessful and pretty discouraging…due to it being a very low rental market and a very competitive market. After applying to a couple of “good” options—we didn’t get any of them. A great option popped up that was truly the provision of God!
How are the Little Llamas handling the transition? And more importantly, are your children eating healthy?
My children may or may not have eaten their fair share if McDonalds over the past month. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And for what it’s worth, I love the Southwest Salad… who knew?
But really…. the children have done amazingly well. We have certainly had our share of Llama Drama, and Spitting Llamas fits… but they have adapted well to our month long road trip.
Did you quit blogging?
No way silly! But I did (and still am) taking a much needed blog break. This transition is crazy to keep up with blogging 3-4 times a week. I am going to try and blog some more the next couple weeks, and then drop off again the week of move-in and unpacking.
When are you going to post pictures of your super cute kids?
Can you please potty train my child for me?
Sorry, I can’t… And if you have emailed me for advice the past month I am sorry that I haven’t emailed you back. I am thrilled that so many people like the Potty Training Boot Camp. But I am the first to admit that I do not have all the answers.
I have a 3 1/2 year old who has been potty trained for almost a year… and still wakes up with a wet pull up.
But I believe whole heartedly in our method of potty training and that the key to success is :
-Cold turkey---no diapers, no pull ups
-Consistency from parents
Do you miss your friends in Greensboro?
I miss everything already and I have barely been gone.
Please don’t forget me… I just feel like breaking out into a chorus of “Friends are Friends Forever” or the old Girl Scout Song “Make new friends,. but keep the old….” You guys are the gold, for sure!
How do you feel about moving North?
For the last time, DC is NOT the north. And I will never be a northerner.
1-- It is below the Mason Dixon line
2-- You can still get sweet tea…at most places
3—I have met more people from Texas and South Carolina living in DC then I ever did in NC.
I have SO much to share. Lots of great pictures. So, rather than have some elaborate blog plan , I am just going to jump right in and try to catch you up on some of the happenings in our herd. Stay tuned… I will be back with lots to say!
